... could not have another good day all year and it’d still be better than 2020.
Went on my first successful timber hunt this morning and now I understand all the hype. It’s how God intended for green heads to get killed. Watching them break their necks and beat their wings against the trees in a willow thicket just about too dense to walk through was unlike anything I’ve ever seen before. I shot my four mallards and then just sat there and practiced working the birds and watched them drop through the canopy.

I took this picture at about 9 to send to my buddy who decided to sleep it off instead of go with me this morning and then forgot to take any more.
Anyway, it was an excellent way to start off the new year.

Nothing like watching them work down through those limbs. Backpedaling mallards make me tingle.

Awesome picture!!! I’ve been told on bluebird calm days in timber to splash in the water and create ripples.

Ducks are supposed to hear the splashing and see the ripples and birddog right into them.
