Used to be a faststeel guy, switched out of necessity and ain't looking back , 4s, 2s , 1s and bbs have all been great .
Guys I goose hunt with ran low and gave them a box of bbs each , they were impressed also .
I've always been a "whatever cheaper" shooter.
Hevi steel is legit.
I shoot 6 cases a year. Next year shooting hevi steel. It will be 4 cases.

dude. im not calling you out but 6 flats= 1500 rounds. even if you only hit 30% thats 500 birds and i gotta think you shoot at least 50%. 500 birds. i shoot 100-150 duck\geese in a good year and i have to give alot away. no way to eat that much. cant imagine what you have to do..

I'm useing a 1 once load in the 12 gauge.

Got plenty of 20 and 28 guage data but didnt see a price advantage over the 12 guage load I'm useing.

Not cheap but the increased perfomance over steel shot is more then worth it too me.
What 1oz load data are you loading?

I found 1.25oz of hw13 4’s to be the sweet spot for payload and pattern in the 12

Otherwise; I duplex 0.90oz of steel and 0.30oz of tss in the 12

Agreed. I won't say how many birds but I'll go to plug if head still up falling. If a bird has any life, I'm shooting.
My area has 3-5 knot currents frequently. 1 dog struggles with 2 birds down. We frequently hunt 2 dogs for this very reason. I'll guarantee most my shells are at crips. I've launched my boat too many times to pick up dog 500 yds out in open water chasing crips.

I probably spend more shells trying to finish a 45 yard cripple than anything sometimes.

Bought one of the new style Higdon pulsators after a day hunting deep calm water. No more big auxiliary battery box and cord, all self contained. Has really worked well, planning on buying a couple more.

The Duck oven definitely isn't meant to be waterproof. If you're wanting to stick with Sitka and want waterproof, the delta wading jacket is 100% waterproof (and windproof)
Don’t know how long you’ve had your delta jacket but it is NOT waterproof. Sitka is waterproof until maybe the 2nd season and then breaks down like all “breathables.” I’ve tried all of the ways to regenerate the goretex but same result. Revivex works for about an hour.

same to be said for boreal jacket which is nothing but a sponge.

Just keep them out of salt water. This connections basically melt off
