I'll be out your way 3 weeks from today. We are returning for our 3rd year in a row to the Bitterroot Valley area. Plan is as usual to get some hiking and fishing in, but most importantly just some time away from work. Really looking forward to it once again!!

I have been keeping you updated on the high water (at least in front of my house) Still high, but has peaked, I think. It has been very warm the last week (cold snap right now, 55-60 daytime temps)

I take the dog to the river where there is a little elbow with slack water. Normally I can set up near the edge of the elbow and toss all the way across it. Right now I am putting on my mud boots and setting my chair in 2" of water just so I can reach the elbow with my tosses. Not near the highest I have seen, not even close, actually. I have seen it come over the banks in the meadow across from the house. We didn't get near the snow other areas in MT got. Just below 'normal'.

But, as I have told you, in 3 weeks things should be fish-able. Keep in mind, I got a couple of ATV's (400 size) you can drop by and take a trail ride on, if you want. There are some fantastic views if you get up high. Might be a nice 'half day' diversion, if you are so inclined. Let me know if that is something you are interested in doing, and I will get the 'spare' out and running a few days before you come.

Water is dropping pretty good. I am almost to my regular 'dummy' throwing spot.
