So is the fourth of july weekend the absolutely worst time to be on the coast fishing? Buddy has a guided trip lined up for that weekend and I got invited, should I stay and drink on lake travis instead, or go to the coast and fish?

If its a good guide he should be able to find fish. Just might be more people out on the water. What body of water?

Don't fish on any Holiday weekends...ever.

    You'll thank me later.

Agreed. The only reason I do is because it's a 15 second walk to the water.

I've always wanted to have a tailgate party at a busy boat ramp on the 4th....potentially lots more fun than fishing.

Depends on where you are going...as mentioned previously, there are lots of places the barney's can't get into...

I drove from Huntsville to Lake Jackson to Surfside with the idea of wade fishing one 4th of July. That idea with about the tailgate party would have been a good one. What a show that was. Talk about a wreck. Came back through Galveston just to see how bad it could be. It was one heck of a show.

But for fishing, never again. :fp
