I shared earlier in the summer that I was building an ultra-light spread, using some old Carry-Lite floating shells, and some Herter’s Suc Ducs. I got the 22 mallard drakes and hens done, and decided I wanted a few more with a good amount of white on them for a little more visibility. First, I converted three beat up old Herter’s Suc Ducs that were Scaups and painted them as Ringers.

Next I went for three drake Pintails. I used the same Carry-Lites I used for the mallards.

Finally, I decided to do a trio of drake Goldeneyes, especially for the late season. I again converted some Herter’s Suc Ducs.

It was my first time doing any of these species, so I’m sure they are far from perfect, but I think they should hunt just fine. Any constructive criticism is welcomed!

Allow me to rephrase that; Far better than the average repaint, sir. The colors are accurate, realistically placed, not garish/overdone. Realistically depicts the specie.
Now......I'd like to see some hens. :tu

A pic of a drake next to each of its respective decoy would make a great follow up post /posts.
    Good job.
