Hell if you don't own you will not be hunting as every square acre will be leased up by non residents already like it in my neighborhood and they are paying stupid money if they are buying many have more money than brains it appears. They have driven up land prices by 300 % in the last couple of years. Went from 2000 an acre to 6000 an acre and still going upwards

If the restrictions on public go through you can about forget about Kansas’ private land. That forever will be off-limits for everybody except the guy who owns or leases it.

In neighboring Missouri most public land is open to everybody. But I know of no private land that holds ducks being open to door knockers. Landowners share ducks among themselves. But newbies are out of luck. I’ve seen the same in Arkansas.

Put out enough corn and the real estate agent will get the picture of one.

Good accessible bottomland along Missouri flyways is going for $5,000-$10,000/acre. No telling whether it will attract ducks once developed. Probably the same deal in Kansas.
If it’s tillable or has any sort of income associated with it, it’s on the higher end of that range. Crazy.

Why are people mad about high land prices? Is it not a good thing that land is worth more?

Well depends on your perspective. But for the majority of us who don’t own land, the “barrier-to-entry” getting taller by the minute is either irrelevant or bad news.

I can’t think of a scenario where land getting more expensive is a good thing unless you own the land.
