Years ago, I was pulled over for speeding for 11 over on the Interstate. The trooper noticed the DU sticker on my car, and asked if I was a duck hunter. I said I was, and in fact, I duck hunted with Charlie Brown, ( who was also a state trooper). We had a brief chat about charlie, and then he asked for my license. It also happened to be my my birthday, and I thought that for sure i would be getting off with a warning, but to my surprise, he handed me a ticket, and told me that "next time I see charlie to make sure to tell charlie that he said hello":l

Honestly, I have gotten out of several tickets by just asking cops politely not to write me a ticket. 15 or under it usually works.

At least half the time I'm laughing at myself when they get to my window and say something like, "you got me, and there's not a damn thing I can say." More often than not the interaction ends with no paperwork changing hands.

I struggle with the correct reply to "any idea why I pulled you over?".

Yes but I'd rather let you tell me please.

Does that work or do I really have to play "guess why I stopped you"?
    It's a loaded question.
    Help me out.
That question triggers a response that I can't control.

It's been 12 years since I have been stopped. I had a new boat and kept paper tag in truck.
Farmer City officer needed to see.
I've been stopped in farmer city a lot.
They're well protected their guy checks up on things. He helped me fix my lights once.

First, smile. Second, if you do know, tell them what you think you did wrong and keep smiling. If you don't know, smile and say, "no sir, but I'm sure I screwed up."

Last time I got pulled over I was looking for an address and wasn't paying attention to my speed in a 25 zone. When he asked if I knew how fast I was going I said, "Well, if you pulled me over it was obviously too fast." He told me to slow down, told where to find what I was looking for, and no ticket.

The debate goes back and forth.
The vaccines are safe and work.

    Ok, maybe so……
There have been documented serious side effects ( yes a small percentage).

But if they are so safe…… why not remove the protections of not being sued due to Known issues?

Because when you're at the negotiating table and you hold (literally) all the cards, you don't leave that table without everything you want.
Gov't: "We need vaccine and we need it now"
Pharma: "We can do it, but rushing any drug comes with inherent risk. The board has appointed me CEO to, in part, mitigate risk. We live in an extraordinarily litigious country. If we are to do this we need protection from the ambulance chasers."
    Gov't: "Done"

If you don't want to take a vaccine because you can't sue someone, that is completely your choice.
But affording companies protections from personal injury attorneys undoubtedly led to increased program participation and expediency.
It was indisputably the right call.
