One of the most quiet Thanksgiving waterfowling weekends I've ever experienced around my parts!
Literally a dozen shots from two spots Wednesday AM, ending by 7:30.
A handful of shots from one spot Thursday AM, ending by 7:30ish.
No report from yesterday, but it sounded dead.
Three dozen shots from three spots this morning, ending by 8:30.
Between the nice weather/relatively calm winds, deer hunters rumbling through the woods/farms and the lack of a goose season again, whatever ducks were in the area hit the refuges and impoundments quickly this Thanksgiving!
Maybe the birdwatcher types had a good holiday weekend, and can start paying for VDWR funding?
Forgot to add...these spots monitored are some very well known farms/marshes with names you all would recognize. Sound carries well over large bodies of water on calm mornings...a CO's dream locator. Ain't no secrets along the river!
