I'm hearing of yet another outfitter (a new one never heard of before) putting out flyers paying landowners $100 per gun if they hunt your land. It's a lease and nobody can hunt it regardless if they ever hunt the ground or not. If they don't hunt, you don't get paid. Is KDWP going to do something about this garbage? Does anyone realize how outfitters are destroying hunting for real hunters and future generations? If I can get a copy of the flyer, I'll post it. I will be calling the owner tomorrow after I calm down. I wish they'd come by my place and give me a flyer.

Commercial take of migratory birds, they should have to pay a replacement value to KDWP or FWS for each bird taken from the public for personal profit. Just like poachers have to do. $50 per duck, $100 per goose, $200 per crane, etc. That'd slow things down.

You do understand the two things you are referencing can only be done at much higher levels than KDWP right? Putting a ban or taxing landowners can only come from the state Legislature and putting a value on anything like what you are talking about can only come from the commission, right??? If you want to do something start talking to your local elected Rep and work on introducing a bill for the house or Reps.

We all get it here, until a new LAW is passed a land owner can do what he wants with his own LAND THEY PAID FOR.

Mostly agree and have done so, but I also think KDWP is turning a blind eye. Laissez-faire. People are disgusted with these outfitters, but nobody wants to do anything about it. Just roll over and take it. Everyone is adversely affected just stand aside and allow them to run ramshot and kill off the local hunter. I have probably 30 waterfowl outfitters (by now) in my area and they just keep coming. Resident hunter #s are declining. Guess why?

Maybe a way to combat this trend is for us to go to these landowners and offer the same $100-per-gun-deal to lock up their property just for our own use.
I'd pay $100 per hunt to have access to private property......and so would most of the (few) guys I hunt with.

The problem is they are bringing 10 guns, so $1K for the landowner IF they hunt it. The ground is off limits to anyone and sits idle until the guides decide to hunt it, if at all.

If the lease is as you describe I think your problem isn’t with the outfitters but with your landowners that aren’t very smart!
You'd be surprised how much is getting locked down. You and I could have a wonderful hunt with 150 geese using a field, but that’s not enough birds to satisfy 10 guns, so the field sits off limits. This is really happening across thousands of acres just by 1 outfit.

And go lease it yourself. $500 cash in hand is better than a possible $1,000.
