    All,

Got the following text from a buddy in CO. Was hoping someone here might have a suggestion on who to call. The text is all the information I have.

"Happy Monday. A neighbor has some antique duck decoys she wants to unload. Any tips on pointing her in the right direction."

Ask her to send pics. The guys here may even know the maker.

Pay for an appraisal so she doesn't get screwed.

    Oh my..
There was a story about the widow with all the belgian-made brownings... traded them all to a dentist for a root canal job.

I know a guy. Post some pictures and we could give her enough info to decide if a professional auctioneer is needed.

If they are worth decent money, do not let her let a local estate seller thrift store type business sell them. A nationwide auction is where the big money is.

Kind of the idea, but who does decoy appraisals?

All, I'll see if my buddy can get some pics. Who knows, they may just be a bunch of Big Sky Carvers stuff from DU banquets. I have quite a few antique decoys, and I have some old books on the subject, but I'm certain that decoys are like many other collectibles in that the market has changed a lot in the last 20 years.

Thanks. I'm hoping they get some photos overnight so I can at least verify they are antiques and worth pursuing further.
