Fast times at Ridgemont High was a favorite movie of mine, and that song and that movie are inseparable in my mind.

Curious if they got the steel guitar out for the concert?

Yes. He had two dudes on guitar (besides himself), one of which played the pedal steel on numerous songs. Also had a keyboard guy on a Hammond organ for that classic organ sound. Plus, of course, JB did numerous songs at the piano. Had a couple of really good black ladies as his backup singers. As I said, the band was very tight and the sound very good.

Probably my favorite Jackson Browne song.

When I worked up until retiring recently I was a road warrior (sales job) and spent a lot of time on the road. Wish I had a dollar for every time my wife would text me from home and say "Get up and do it again"...to which I would text back "Amen".

Browne didn't write a lot of songs for Eagles. J.D. Souther did though. Browne got the big push from the record company instead of Souther because he was cuter. The Pretender is about what almost everyone from that Laurel Canyon scene at that time (Joni Mitchell, CSN, Eagles, Browne) became...........a happy idiot chasing the legal tender, but singing songs about how wrong that was. Hence, The Pretender. Late for the Sky is his masterpiece. David Lindley's guitar work still stands up. His cocaine binges were legendary, but par for the course. He put Daryl Hannah in the hospital in 1992.
