62 degrees in the house this morning, lows in the 30s the next two nights. It kills me to turn the heat on a week after the air conditioner was running, but that's a little chilly with a baby in the house.

I used to play a dumb game with seeing how long I could go into the fall without turning the heat on. 5-6 years ago it was looking like I could make it to Dec 1. It got pretty uncomfortable in mid-Nov but I was too close to Dec 1 to give up. The morning of Dec 1 I woke up and it was 46* inside my house. I no longer play that game. 56* is my cut off now.

:l 56 is still pretty respectable. Getting out of the shower takes a pep talk and a lot of swearing below 60.
I usually like to have everything shut off for a month or so in between, but man it went from hot and humid to 50s/30s in no time.

Turning the heat on means starting the wood stove. Haven't done that yet.

There is often a point in both spring and fall when I'll go back and forth between heat and ac in the same day. Doesn't cost any more to run it one way than the other, so why be uncomfortable?
