Or is it too smoky to see things?

I've been out 3 times with fair success but it seems I am usually looking the wrong way when they come rushing past.

I was in West Linn Thursday morning and there were patches at lower elevation where visibility was only about 75 yards. Although sometimes my shooting percentage is better when i can't see birds at a great distance incoming. Visibility was better in Corvallis--saw these Mallards and what appeared to be Teal (no binocs---BWT? GWT?) Near boat ramp at river. I picked a great time to visit from VA.

Sorry about the timing of your visit. Are you here on business?

Visibility is less than a mile here.

Pretty thick smoke over here. Besides that, I have no idea where to go yet for dove. My scouting trips have been primarily for waterfowl.

Sorry. That was addressed in your other post about Corvallis. Good luck to your son.

Watterswatter, no problem. "The rest of the story" is that I had airline ticket(s) expiring from a Tucson wedding trip i was supposed to make in March...wedding cancelled due to Covid. It was "use it or lose it" on the airfare for this Oregon trip.

Watched close-up 2 salmon spawning in a small stream near Pacific City this morning...also the dories beaching and trailering after morning trips today...impressive! In NC those rec boats in the surf/sand would be considered a hard grounding and a 401K gift to SeaTow or TowBoats US!

You were just down the road from me.
Sure is ugly scenery on the coast, especially down at Pacific City.
Fog so bad, you probably got lucky and couldn’t see much.
Worse fog I’ve seen in years. I have had headaches last few days trying to navigate through it. Brutal

Our smoke is clearing out. Yipeeee. Clouds moving in. Hopefully some rain tonight. Local dairy cut his corn along the Rogue River and the “chin straps” Canada geese are honed in on it. They are bunching up. SKOL
