Got to thinking after the market hunting thread went to a band thread..

So what kind of birds you killed that was banned... If you want to post how many that's fine, but I was looking for species....

    Me..
    Cinnamon teal, drake
    Mallard, hen and drake
    Widgeon, drake
    Pintail, drake
    Specklebelly, drake
    Honker, hen
    Sparrow..I was 12, I think a drake
Seagull, double band, caught fishing, released, looked like a drake
Pelican, seen in water next to boat while fishing, net handle was not long enough..

I have killed truck loads of greenwings..no band !!

A bit OT, but... Since the plumage is pretty much the same, it's interesting that the bander can identify a honker's sex. For example, I have a band from a honker that the COA identified as a male. Over the years I've submitted many honker tail feathers and wing tips to the US F&W harvest surveys and the end of season summary always says "sex not determined".

Two Honkers and a racing Pidgeon. Not many for as many years I have put in. I guess you have to be in the right place at the right time.

You have to vent check geese... It's not a pleasant experience for either party.
