How’s everyone’s bees doing after this cold weather ? Are you seeing dead bees outside of the hive on the ground ?

I don't know if will let you know in 3 weeks or so.
There will be dead bees. Gross amounts you sure you want to actually see?
I'm hoping I only lose half which means twenty dead outs. I've had 30 before.

I’ve seen some dead ones, went ahead and ordered 3 more packages. Scheduled to have them delivered the week after Easter and I’m worried that may be too early

If your putting them into a dead hive that's easy.
Dump em in and feed. If you have honey/pollen frames from other hives that are dead feed them that.
Won't be long and dandelions and maples bloom

Looks like I’ll be able to get into the hives next week, going to mix up ABs pollen sub and see how it goes

Thrres a lot of videos on pollen substitute mixing and patties. Some like it gooey and soft to mash it into the top.
There's more than one way. I just posted vino farms because he is super skilled at presentation.
He's only had bees about 8 years I think.
He's a great resource for east coast..
    I think he's in Massachusetts?

I end up pulling patty parts when the maples bloom.
Hive beetles isn't a thing until later.
Once it's hot look out tho.

I’m actually starting 3 new ones from packaged bees, in the past I used A nuc, so it will be a new experience, I’m guessing I just need to feed the crap out of them

Beg for drawn combs on frames.
Want first year honey thats how.
If you can get.2,3, or 4 frames each do it.
Your bees will take off right away and you won't have to feed as much. Once they're bringing in nectar stop feeding until fall then weigh hives to see which needs what.

Thrrs a new product but it won't deliver in winter.
    Pre-drawn combs.

That’s good to see, I found 2 light and empty late fall then yesterday when I lifted my only hive it was heavy, mixed up some pollen sub cracked her open and no bees, found a couple with their butts sticking out but that’s all, whole brood box full of honey.
