In Utah for limited entry hunts when you apply you choose your weapon, ie. archery, rifle(actually called any weapon), and muzzle loader. For rifle your elk hunt is about a week long. For archery is about 3 weeks. Not sure on muzzy but I think it's a bit longer than rifle. The problem with Utah is the give the peak of the rut for elk to the gun hunters. It doesn't make sense but that's how the money works for the state. If your like me, elk is far more exciting then deer!!!!

If I had that tag and lived out of state I would call Mossback if I could afford it. You can hunt all 4 hunts. If they could not do it they would probably point you to someone that could. Hope you have a lot of vacation and good luck!

Me and my son both drew archery bull tags - I will probably turn my tag back since they are in different units. He got real lucky with a SWD tag.

Yes, both your money and your points are reinstated.

I don't think you will get your money back.
If it a medical issue they might give you your money.

I think the State screwed up my application. My son and I drew East Canyon for Deer..... I would never have applied for an area that I am completely unfamilar with. I hope I did not fat finger the hunt area on my application.

If nothing else - does anyone on here know the area?

I could be wrong on the money. My understanding was a refund. But that is more hearsay then the written truth. It would be best to make a call to the DWR.

If you turn your tag in you get all your money back except for $25.00 and you get a point. You also need to turn the tag in 30 days before the hunt starts to get the refund. I turned a tag in last year.

This is correct. They keep the $25 as a processing fee.

Silverkittens, I haven't looked at the exact boundaries, and I know there is public land, but a lot of private land up that way too. Make sure you check it out before hand.
