My guess by end of next week if those storms come through Shasta will be at average/max depth for flood control by end of next week. There is a lot of snow up there, if it doesn't fill it means we had a cold spring and summer.

Sac is at about 19' higher than normal flow at Colusa, the feather is running about 21' higher than normal at Nicholaus...lots of snow up here yet to add to it, glad we got this little break.

Cranking oroville releases to 25k. Still have over 50k inflow. They're looking to make/keep some room for all that snow now.

Oroville releases going to 35k tomorrow. I think they're getting a little nervous with the forecast for next week.

Forecast for early next week is dropping, no atmospheric rivers for northern half of CA, heading more south, maybe problem for Kern county.

^^ True, Phil. But this is a govt agency we're talking about so I'm going either nervous or have no clue. Flip a coin! :l

The local water district published today's "major" reservoir situation. Looks like there's still room to fill. Click on the embedded links. Lots of interesting info in there.

Drove by and looked at the spillway dumping yesterday at Oroville, pretty impressive, they have reduced the out flow now to 22,655 cfs., lake has gone down to 856.09', down about 5' since the 17th., Shasta is up about 21' in the last week... still about 40' from full table. A little rain and fresh snow above today. Rice water allotments should be in good shape.

As much as I know that's good news for farmers, I'm not super excited about it from a hunting aspect. I had a fantastic year last year bird wise with the reduced rice.... it was good while it lasted.
