    I guarantee if I posted a tailgate full of cormorants someone would be offended.

    There’s been arguments forever to de-regulate the non-native striped bass. Selfishly I’d like to see it go the other direction and up the keeper size to mid twenty’s...but the argument is sound. We’re lucky there’s a limit on them at all.

    I don't know, are there any studies regarding spear fishing crippling rates and associated mortality?

    I know there are studies regarding catch and release mortality...

    According to this study, hook and line anglers kill 43% of the stripers that they release.

    The fact is that every single fish released by a hook and line guy is a "cripple" and, according to the study above, 4 out of every 10 of those "cripples" die after being released.

    Are there any studies on the spawning success of stripers that survive being caught and released?
