I was in central SD last week and I did not notice any of the snow roosts like that, though I wasnt paying too close attention as we were not targeting snows.

How many would normally die just from migrating or the cold?

Idaho, this is heaven!
Question, if you have reported this to the Feds or State have they asked you to pick the birds up and if so how are you suppose to dispose of them. I know with botulism you burn the carcasses. Can the disease be spread by dead birds as with botulism, or is it not passed on by a deceased bird?

All the chicken farms around here that had avian flu have giant rows of dirt piled up. So, to me that means they are just burying them.

Driving around this afternoon I noticed a single honker is a sorghum field. Figured I’d check it for a band. Got about 10 yards from it with the dog. Flew up and made it about 300 yards fthat. Didn’t appear sot at all figure it had the flu.

Evidently it has reached southern Illinois now. Dead snow geese are being reported at both major lakes, (Rend and Carlyle), and at other locations around the area
