Black- billed mallard hen

    Looks like the olive and black bill of a hen black duck to me, so perhaps that cross. Perhaps just an olive and black billed mallard...

    I have killed numerous mallard hens like that. Even one with a blue/black pintail looking bill. Killed a greenhead with no red/brown on his chest. Look through a flock of the "mules" at the local park and you'll see these things in the tame ducks. Sometimes those genes get out and into the wild flocks. Very common on the east coast with all of the people with pet ducks, and club releases of tamies.

    Another mallard that's been hanging out at one of the poop ponds.
