Or just do a simple search for "Boykin" in brown-and-white

I'll say this right off.....................I'm not a big fan of Boykins................................seen too many unruly Boykin/mongrels in the public pheasant hunting places I hunt.

That said I'm an HRC judge, and have judged dogs from the above kennel a lot of times. They are, IMHO, the best trained/bred Boykins in the Midwest. Phil is a great guy.:reader:tu

Phil and his brother, Larry, both have good lines of Boykin's. There are some good breeders in South Carolina and Georgia, too. Check with the Boykin Spaniel Society.
Or, check out an American Water Spaniel.........the breed that started the Boykin's.

Why do you say that the American Water Spaniel is the breed that started the Boykin? There is no proof of what lineage Dumpy was of(Dumpy was the dog that started the breed.) The breed is a melting pot of the desired characteristics of several breeds that were desired by the breed developers, just the same way the AWS was developed. Sure the AWS played a role in the Boykin but I think it is a stretch to say the Boykin was started by the AWS.

Every story can stand a good stretching but next professor'll be claiming that Boykins came from Wisconsin by way of AWS whelping them through the cheese pipeline

or that they were hatched by curly-feathered pterodactyls mated with AWS.
