Points for everything and a d3-5 tag. Probably going to cash in the points on a deer tag next year

Put in for hard draws so I can take pops on his Utah tag and take advantage of Nevada elk tag. Most likely will be turning in my Nevada deer tag

Put the tribe(4)in for everything like normal. Best odds are me max elk Owens valley archery and son x5a.

Everyone I talk to says it was the wrong move for my son but if he draws we’re going to make a vacation out of it. I saw a buck while Antalope scouting several yrs ago that was a sold 175-180.

Will probably end up with 4 d5 tags

Good luck to everyone playing the lotto

My desired deer zone always seems to be 1 more point than I have, so it'll be the highly coveted D3-5, most likely.

Drew both the elk and antelope several years ago, so only shot is random now.

Sheep, probably just a dream, but someone has to draw.

With one less than max for the big 3(don’t even really count sheep), I’m “on the outside looking in” for the hunts I chose unless the guys that have been sitting on max points don’t decide to use their points.

Every hunt (elk/pronghorn) I’ve put in for the last few years had just enough max guys in the previous year so i was hopeful that the less than max guys would start getting pulled but that hasn’t been the case.

I don’t know about y’all but I’d like to see CA modify the draw, go to something like Nevada does…..

Bought an OTC tag for my second and a bear tag. Would really like to get an arrow in a bruin this year.

G3,7b,d3-5,,,,,I'll get d3-5
Lassen p1- maybe
Grizzly bull- highly doubt
Purchased a bear tag and will hunt the 7's for a few days to learn the country even more. Should be a slam dunk for a bear rug,,,,I "need" one. The rug has been on my hit list lately, would be cool draped over the couch.
You guy's can just come up in late Nov drive up and down janesville grade on sunday evening, lazy folks put there trash cans out for monday pick up because there to lazy to go to the dump that's only 6 miles away, bears are all over in that area on sunday... lol

I agree with you on the pp system Dan, it would be great if it were like NV's system.
The pp pool is getting smaller, but never small enough to draw for some like yourself.
I'd like to see a carrot put forth by the DFG to trim the pp max pool by adding late season deer hunts for the west slope, namely the D zones. I'd cash points to hunt late season in d3 alone. Come Nov we have many big bucks dead all along the highways (80, 50, 49, 20) and in folks backyards, they're virtually untouchable during reg season and many are dying anyway via vehicles, etc. That would trim the max pp holders IMO, and increase opportunity. I won't hold my breath.
Just one mans opinion, but I've said it for years, wrote letters to DFW, etc. Just falls on deaf ears. The west slope herd can handle it, there's plenty of animals available.
There also needs some talk of increasing bear hunt opportunity, like opening it concurrent with premium deer zones. Trim their numbers and better fawn recruitment will happen on the east slope, the herd that direly needs fawn recruitment.
Just my thoughts, fire away gents.
