    @Aunt Betty

    Looks like i got big trouble. Been noticing a lot of bees bothering us outside this year. Today i noticed a whole bunch going in and out of the front of the house. Im guessing there is a hive in my soffet. What do i do? Call exterminator? Call a bee keeper? Not sure what to do, but ive heard horror stories about bee hives in houses.

    First thing I ask is "sure it's honey bees?".
    If its yellow jackets. Wasps... you just kill em with spray. Honeybees no because if they've stored honey that attracts other critters.
    Step one. Post picture of the hole and bees.
    That's a rule or I wont even move.
    Been shafted by wasps .

    I think its yellow jackets, not honey bees. Ill get a pic, but they are going up between the bricks into the soffet. Stand by for picture

    Next step is look online for the local bee club there is one I promise.
    What's going to happen?
    I'd tell you wait until spring because chances are good that they'll just die.

    Spray with permethrin or the fancy wasp killer.
    They call em meat bees because they raid hives for larva to feed their young.
    Wasps.

    After they're dead buy a small tub of pre mixed mortar and plug that hole up. Use a popsicle stick trowel..nothing fancy.
    thanks for asking.
