I like my call a little sticky, but it can be a thin line between sticky, and stuck...especially when it is below freezing.

I am relatively new to calling but I have had a bad problem with cheaper calls sticking. Buck gardner double nasty II and Duck Commander Duck Picker stuck bad for me. I recently picked up a Zink ATM double reed with the z cut tone channel and it hasnt stuck one time since I got it. That includes 2 hunts around 15 degrees

Another recommendation for JJ Lares and Buck Gardner spit-tech calls for folks having that trouble.
If you have ever seen Buck at a sportsmen show, he has a bucket of water and plunges his calls in and then blows them over and over again without sticking.
I run Lares pretty good but I have a buddy who can make a certain whine with his Gardner Buck Brush that absolutely sucks the Mallards in on certain days. Those calls are very good values on price point

That was Eli's old shtick with the DR-85, too. Had some sitting in a glass of water he'd pull them from and call. (Would think spit stickier stuff...)

Get a Doc Hull call. Never stuck either of the ones I hunt with and the calls just sound great.
