    It appears I am surrounded by experts.
    Not sure if baiting is allowed but if it were in LA, I’d pour a sack of rice bran on the NE end of the thicket the last week of September and stick the first legal deer that stepped out October 1. Good hunting!

    Deer up here use cedars for thermal cover. Cool in the summer and warmer in the winter. They will feed on it as well. Can’t remember if it’s the red or white cedar they prefer.

    Tree stands on the trails in and out of there and hunt the wind to not blow on the trails or into the thicket.
