Got back Thursday from a trip to Colorado and Kansas. These are Lesser Prairie Chickens on a lek near Oakley, KS. The pics were taken from a cattle trailer converted into a blind, located about 10 yds from the edge of the lek.

As usual……..excellent work
great light that shows off the mating color of what is a “brown” bird
excellent behavioral and environmental series

Someday you need to try a Big White……..

maybe not
Like the song ‘it’s been the ruin of many a poor boy and Lord I know I’m one’
Happened the first time I rented a 500 F4 and I was a goner when I used the old 13 lb 600F4
i know my retirement account would be a lot fatter if I had just stopped with the old 100-400 LOL

Again……excellent

Ruffed Grouse do drum in our backyard...but will be late this year due to record snowpack.

Getting photos of a bird that a lot of hunters count no see flushes as a success…..is impressive

The first image is finest kind… relatively clean background with minimal foreground clutter, sharp and well exposed
