S&W model 29
In a Harry Callahan shoulder rig ?
Sorry I should have specified; I was looking for elaboration on the comment of "shoot to kill vs. stop the threat."
I don't really ever partake in the "caliber debates" especially the 9mm vs. .45; too many fudds spout off outdated and flat out wrong info. All I say to people when the discussion comes up, is carry the gun you can shoot fast and accurate while still being able to conceal with relatively normal clothing. I used to be able to carry a full size gun with relatively little change in daily wardrobe; but now, I have to wear athletic cut polos, so I'm not able to conceal a full size single stack or compact double stack and still maintain a professional appearance. Because I'm limited to the type of gun I can hide, I chose 9mm over .40 or .45 for capacity and recoil management in a small frame gun. Everybody's needs and situations are different.
