Planted May 5 in NW Missouri but have not been to farm to check on it yet. Been busy with a Senior in High School graduating and all the festivities associated with that. Also planted Sunflowers on May 2 at farm in South Central Iowa. Looks like Memorial Day weekend before can check on either. Keeping an eye on the weather of course and praying for some “normal” weather if there is such a thing!!!!

Sunklands. Curious. Do you just apply granular urea/nitrogen or something else? How much per acre do you apply?

Inject.....always inject, on my hill ground. On my ridge till I will inject and occasionally spread dry and cultivate the middles with a Hiniker, to throw and cover the N. With the middles “run”, it allows for better flow during irrigation.

Alot of folks up north or west don’t understand our terminology, when it comes to “hipping or bedding” ground. The Bootheel farms, different than the rest of Missouri.

I’ve seen “hipping” when I hunted Arkansas, Mississippi and Louisiana. I looks like a big pain in the arse to do.

Must be something related to the hippies from the 60’s was my guess. You all are light years ahead of me with all your techno-farmer-speak. I’m just a simple man trying to grow a little grain for my feathered migratory friends!!!
