Cost and availability of hunting ammunition???

Good on steel for now but I did pick up some TSS on sale for the occasional Jimmy Whomp.

I still have a few cases of number 3 steel that I paid $85 for.
Some $85 + $15 shipping.

Last winter I bought snow goose loads, the original customer backed out of the order and I bought a couple of cases for $220.
I'll add a local farm store I asked about the 40 caliber pistol loads that they had.
While at the gun counter a guy bought the whole pallet.

I could accept the increase in costs, thanks to everything being more expensive because of the worst administration ever. But the availability is the key factor that makes me irate. And thanks to the Communists running Commifornia, we can't have ammo shipped unless we go through an FFL. Everyone should be able to buy ammo any time, it's our God given constitutional right!

Thank god I left that crap hole state and never looked back.

Input costs did skyrocket to unbelievable levels, but they’ve also regressed quite a bit as well. Hopefully costs to consumer follow suit in the downward trend, but I won’t hold my breath.

I don't understand why ammo prices are so high. I understand why they are high, just not why they are as high as they are. It seems excessive, unless you compare it to the increase in the price of eggs.

I have more steel shot than I’ll probably use in the next ten years unless I start traveling. What the high prices have done is make it more justifiable to spend a little more and buy the TSS/ Steel blends that are only 20-25 percent more than premium steel offerings. I bought a box of 20 gauge 3” 1 ounce drylok’s the other day for $32 and ordered a box of 12 gauge Apex S3/TSS 4’s and 9’s from Mack’s for $39.99 with free shipping because of other items. I’d rather shoot the blended load and realistically there’s not much cost difference.

I just ran out of black cloud. About died when I saw it’s now $400 for a flat. Price has doubled since I bought it last.
