I have been seeing sales at Roger's Sporting Goods, Molly's and several others. Unfortunately that probably doesn't help the California folks out. I was advised another price increase is coming to ammo prices that you will see in the fall. Unfortunately that won't help anyones pocket books out.

I'm guessing manufacturing costs (and possibly availability) as it's hard for me to imagine that the basic components of a steel shotshell have gone up that much.
Even if the basic materiel cost stayed the same it takes energy to produce, manufacture, or move anything. Cost more now to hire and keep employees. Add an administration hostile to firearms ownership, a European war, and it all adds up.

I still have enough Waterfowl loads to play with but I rather shoot my handloads !
I feel the same. Too bad the same affliction cripples reloading at this time as well. Since before 'Barry' I saw this coming as well. Make no mistake...it's by design. 'STEEL' and 'Blue Dot' powder is all but unobtainable for the last several years and primers are like ghosts. The other powders for earlier steel reloads are all discontinued...4756 ,7625, HS-6/540, HS-7/571, 800X,...and so on. I found it strange these all went 'obsolete' so quickly and pretty much all at once. I piled these up while I could and bought primers by the 5000 count case. Hulls take up half my garage. Buddies used to give me crap...not so much anymore. I ration my 'STEEL' powder when I can and use older data and powders when appropriate. I have steel data back to the 80's...and use it.

Agreed.... Blue Dot is popping up more here and there. STEEL, PRO REACH & IMR BLUE are all unicorns these days. Same can be said of some rifle powders as well.

I realize it's been rough but component seem to be losing up as more and more are becoming , more available !
Now that the industry is focusing on Clay target ammo , hopefully , nontox components will catch up . This has been a rough road trying to acquire
factory or enough stuff to reload but , don't think for one moment , the industry hasn't seen what we are willing to pay in order to keep shooting !
With supplies (finally) getting to the manufactures and assembly plants , maybe we're at a turning point of , getting what we are wishing for at
a price ?
