Tailfeathers - Sounds more like a cougar to me and not coyote

Pulled up to the duck blind on Sunday and found the 2 very young horses had been roaming the property, nothing but bones and some organs scattered. They picked them pretty clean, very fresh.

Several years ago my aunt was at my house. She is a complete drama queen and lives in a fantasy world, basically an old cat lady but with dogs and every other animal for companionship. I was watching one of the outdoor channels and they were shooting coyotes. She saw this and I honestly thought she was gonna cry. It was one of the stupidest things I've ever seen. She kept saying "oh they're shooting dogs, that's not right why are they shooting dogs" in this pitiful sad voice. I basically told her to get over it that "dog" would eat every one of her dogs, cats, goldfish or whatever other animal she was hoarding.

That's kind of strange, as they tend to eat organs first:

Maybe horse offal tastes awful to them.

Not entirely incidentally, that calf's owner opined that it was most likely one of the donkeys brought in for coyote protection that killed it before the coyotes found it. He, like a lot of folks around here that bought into that fad, got rid of the donkeys in favor of leaving calf protection to his quite capable momma cows.

One of them they ate everything, the other one they left the organs, but nothing else. They were maybe 20 yds apart.

They were on this deer in under one flipping hour! Never did find either front shoulders or much of the ribs.

Hope you didn't disappoint that coyote...or cougar as the case may be.
