reason i ask is that i am not a big deer hunter but my girlfriend started deer hunting last year with a gun. Well she saw a couple bucks in the backyard off the trail cam and now she wants a crossbow for her bday. She cant shoot a regular bow right now (broker her wrist a couple months ago carrying my mattress and its still pretty weak) Anyways i live right on the county line , so north of my road ,literally right across the street is milwaukee county and also a ton of geese everyday .but you cant legally discharge a firearm across the street. Was wondering if anyone ever hunted these birds with a cross bow

If you can’t use a gun, you probably can’t use a crossbow??

Yes and no. Guys use them to whack turkeys on the ground, which means you'd have to let them land. Nothing wrong with that, but some might say it isn't ethical. Sure would be a heck of a challenge and a lot of fun trying.

Shooting them in the air with a Xbow isn't practical. At 300-450 fps, the arrows would disappear on a miss. I don't think yo can use the flu-flu type arrows in a Xbow like you can with a recurve.

BTW, why was your girlfriend carrying a mattress? Was she on her way to "work?" :flame

Why? Lots of places where it is illegal to discharge a firearm but completely legal to use a bow.

The county line is the road , i didnt mean physically shoot over the road, but to walk across road and shoot on that side

I didn't read it as he would be shooting from one side to the other. I assumed he would cross the road before shooting at them.

Copy. Sometimes, my Alabama public education fails me, and I don't comprehend things.
