A couple of weeks ago, my daughter joined me in the blind for her first licensed hunt adventure. lasy year, I posted up when she came with me for her first ever visit to a duck blind. After that, she surprised me when she took the hunters Ed course and presented me with her certificate. At that time, she wasn’t sure she would ever shoot ducks.... but she wanted to do that course, for me. At that time, it brought a tear to my eyes for sure. So, as a gift to get, I got her license for her as a gift. She was all in to go hunting this season, so off we went. She wanted me to limit before she started shooting ( said she didn’t want me to miss the few opportunities we expected). She did take a practice shot but things were slow. I wasn’t fortunate to limit out, and she did take her turn at teal, but missed. we laughed and enjoyed that day like none other. Here is to all of you getting ‘kids’ out enjoying our sport! Stay safe
What a great day! My youngest daughter, now 33, married and with her own daughter, told me last year that she wants to get her license and start hunting as soon as they move back from DC. I took her trap and 5 Stand shooting two years ago and she had a blast. She said she wants to hunt so she can teach her daughter. It made my eyes water, too.
Looks like a great hunt... Love spending time in the blind with the kiddos! It has been awhile for me but is always nice to have my daughter who is a teacher now in the blind with me.
