At the time of registration on Refuge Forums, Terms & Conditions are agreed upon by all. Specifically included is the following paragraph:
By clicking the Agree button, you warrant that you WILL NOT post any messages that are obscene, vulgar, sexually-orientated, hateful, personal attacks, threatening, or otherwise violative of any laws. Doing so may result in banning the user from the site. Each violation of this policy/rule will be handled on a case by case basis, and the outcome will be the sole decision of the owner(s) of Refuge Forums.
Often posted items may involve issues of emotional or closely held opinions. Never-the-less, posts made under such circumstances are not exempt from published Terms and Conditions. All forums are subject to Refuge Forums standards at all times.

Slang terms are sometimes used to describe/embellish points of view. For the purpose of politically oriented posts, the following guidelines for ?acceptable/not acceptable? slang terms are set.

Liberal oriented slang:
Okay--
lib
lefty
leftist
left winger
Dem

Not Okay--
libtard
libaloon
democrap
dummycrat
neolib
derogatory insult play on politician's name (Obummer, Hildabeast, Beast, etc)

Conservative oriented slang:
Okay--
rep
righty
rightist
right winger
Repub

Not Okay--
tea bagger
neocon
bigot
trUmp
biDen
derogatory insult play on politician's name

The list is not intended to be all inclusive. Each post is judged based upon it's own merit. As so well put by Supreme Court Justice Stewart, "I know it when I see it". Please note that unacceptable posts will be edited and the poster may be notified. Continued posts will result in progressive follow up including the potential removal of posting privileges.

An occurrence sometimes observed in threads is the tossing around of offensive terminology. Specifically name calling and more specifically using variations of the term "bigot".

For a refresher, all Refuge Forum users who "pressed enter" agreed to the following:

By clicking the Agree button, you warrant that you WILL NOT post any messages that are obscene, vulgar, sexually-orientated, hateful, personal attacks, threatening, or otherwise violative of any laws. Doing so may result in banning the user from the site. Each violation of this policy/rule will be handled on a case by case basis, and the outcome will be the sole decision of the owner(s) of Refuge Forums.

Name calling specifically fits within the policy. Please be assured that non-compliance with this policy will result in appropriate follow up.

In short run terms, while characters such as Mitt Romney remain pretty much media personalities and not official candidates; slang term identifiers such as "Mittens" are okay. Still, generally speaking, refrain from using disrespectful terms. Thanks for your understanding.
