Buddy of mine built a 51 ford with a rebuilt ls engine and chevy drive train in it for $12k. Sits on a Chevy s-10 frame. He says its built ford tough with Chevy stuff. He likes the rusty look. Its not for me but he had a blast building it and wants to do another. View attachment 381330

This would be really cool in fire engine red with a Lab looking out the window and a pirogue in the back.

One of our brush trucks is currently sitting in the station either needs a head gasket at $3200 to $3500 or a new crate engine. Its an 00 F350 with 155k hard miles on her. The fire board is probably going to drop a new engine in her since we can't afford a newer cab and chassis. Luckily one of the guys works at Ford and said if we bought the engine he would do the swap for free.

So this happened last night. A rusty tailgate is the least of my concerns now. Hopefully it is a transmission cooling line but I fear the worst.

There is an 03 Chevy 2500 diesel with 128k on facebook market place. They are asking $35k
