Had a great opener last week with some good friends and of course - toted the camera along. Fun times had by all!

Nice shooting. I've been playing with a new 20 gauge, think I am 3 for ~20 on the year. Think I'll stick to my 12 for duck lol.

Also, that's a nice sun flower crop, how was the crowd?

Flowers looked phenomenal I thought. Plenty of people but those near us were very respectful. It makes things way more enjoyable that way, very hit or miss on a dove field (public or private)

Buy good 1oz loads. Rio makes a 1oz 2 3/4 dr eq load that I really like. I personally prefer 7 1/2s over 8s (12 or 20). I have no confidence in the standard 7/8oz dove loads that everybody carries, I hunt out the loads I want. The vast majority of the dove I shoot are with a 20ga. It's a fun gun to shoot, I've killed plenty of ducks and a couple geese and swan with it.

If I had to guess it's a combo of being a different shoulder, floating birds like I was shooting my Benelli, and less lead.

I'm actually not sure I want to learn to shoot it.
