The last couple of years I have had a different kind of dove hanging around my house near Kouts. These doves are almost twice the size of a morning dove. And they make strange sound. And they have a black ring around there necks. Has anyone else have these around them?
I wonder if they are good to eat? I thought there was another species of Doves that were/are invasive like the ones in AR where there is no limits? Banded Doves?
Don't know. They showed up 2 or 3 years ago. There was one setting by a morning dove at the bird feeder it was twice the size of the morning dove.
Eurasian collared dove. See a few each season and I do not believe they count towards your mourning dove limit. I typically see more around town than our sunflower field.
That's nice to know. We have alot of them around me. I live in the country. Had never seen them before.
They have been around for quite a while now all over the good ol' USofA. Around here, no limit, year around season/ shooting. CPW wants them GONE! They eat just like a normal dove, and yes more meat...
The white wings are expanding East. Up until a couple years ago, if you shot a white wing in SE LA, you would have had it mounted. Now every field will kill a few opening weekend.
There are no regulations on them here in Nevada, but they are not as wild as a Mourning Dove. They like trees and wires around houses and buildings. They breed like Pigeons which is many times a year. They are tasty.
