Yesterday I went to our lease to work on my trailer..
We lease 5 fields. 3 have not been planted yet, so no corn. 2 do have corn.
Farmer said he was going to plant millet. Do geese EVER eat millet??
Going to fill my truck to see what it cost round trip.

I've seen on several forecasts that 2022 is lining up like 1988 and 2012...very hot and dry for the central part of the Country.

$84 dollars for round trip diesel. OUCH!
Used to go 1or 2 per week. Maybe not so much this year.

Hey Dr that's a bargain , here , they only allow $99. but the price of #2 diesel is $7.25 gal !
If you can eat more than a limit of birds , it's time to go again , even with 5 leased fields ! Hope your season is as good as ours , maybe !

We went from cool, and sopping wet, to smoking hot, and dry. My yard went from I couldn't keep up, to heat stress in a week! A field of corn has been stuck at shin high for 2 weeks, and showing drought stress. Leaves are burnt, and drawed up already. Looking like a long dry summer!

I'm in the Central Valley of Ca. we are expecting 105 for the rest of this week ! With the winds we have been having everything that grows
is showing stress ! We are only 2 days into Summer's heat , it's not looking good , as our water is going fast ! Our cost for fuel is only a part
of the problem that we haven't seen Yet ! The onslaught is coming for really high inflation , what cost us more , we'll have to past it on
