And GC, if you are not holding a ton of water after last night's tornado party, you have no hope for the season.
I hope we got the freaking flood of Noah up there. It sounded like a cruise missile hit my house at 5:45 a.m. this morning, so I can't imagine how much fun it was to be in West Point, etc.

Ah, the benefits of being hearing impaired.... slept right through it.

Maybe we'll take the dogs for a boat ride and see how bad the Giant Salvinia is. With any luck, some of it gets flushed-out

It was blowing hard in WP but not as bad as Lowndes county. They got nailed.

I wish! Lightning hit so close to the house that the alarm system went off at midnight for a glass break. :doh

Joel, is everything still good over there - other than the possibility of closing the hospital I was born in?

I have been in and around the Delta for the past week, hauling firewood and fixing blinds. Even with the rain we have gotten recently, it is really, really dry. Probably as dry as I have ever seen it. Other than us, I don't see any pumps running, or pumped areas. I wonder if folks are waiting on farmers, or if the folks that used to hunt the north delta all picked up and moved to Mizzou and Oklahoma? Anyway, good luck to all.
What few birds there are - mostly gads - remain in Arkansas, north of Brinkley. Load up and go north...

Why? It’s just a duck and I’m not desperate enough to drive more than 30 miles to kill one, nor interfere with someone else’s attempts to kill one. Arkansas has enough ‘tourists’ as it is. It’d be like going to WalMart on Black Friday for a Co-Cola.

We shot a handful of big ducks opening weekend. Did not see a single flight duck this weekend, but played with the Specks pretty good. Man, they some spooky critters.

I didn’t see any motion in your spread. ‘No wind’ days are tough. Birds don’t like it when everything sits still. Get some Higdon shell decoys that wobble or some lighter G&H shells for light wind days and put them on a slick galvanized stake with a faucet washer through a hole drilled in the shell on its balance point. They move in the slightest breeze. It doesn’t take much and the birds like it a lot better. And don’t call any more than you need to, to keep’em interested. The more you try to work’em the worse it gets - like gadwalls. Good luck.
