Back in the olden days when we used charcoal buckets for heat, we'd grill summer sausage, top it with cheddar cheese and place that on a saltine cracker with a liberal dose of Tiger Sauce. Don't use charcoal in the blind any longer and from the blind, it's a 5 minute drive to the store what makes fresh fried pork tenderloin biscuit sammiches. When we hunt with our buddy over to Reelfoot, he always cooks a breakfast of sausage, eggs & biscuits. Grilled pork chops and fried potatoes & onions he makes is pretty good but I usually pass on it for lunch 'cause I'm savin' up for all you can eat catfish & country ham for supper at Boyette's.
The first pic was just a cheese burger and cheesy hashbrowns. This one is called grass lake Pizza. Eggs, hashbrowns, sausage, mushrooms, pepper, etc and cheese all cooked together.
Hey I've been a walk in/ field hunter for too long . One of the kids I hunt with got a boat blind now . So no more convenience store crap when we're in it. He had a pretty good meal today of bac, eggs, and hashbrowns. Next meal is on me .
Walking in is usually a little Debbie, goose jerky, and/or an apple in the blind bag. If we’re doing a boat blind hunt that might last longer or an opener it’s usually sausage, egg, and cheese sandwiches
Pretty much a combination for us my favorite “Gold Standard“ usually goes like this . Coffee . Bs with buddies in the blind until shooting light . Doughnut after sunrise / first volley . Coffee . Deer sticks . Volley . About 945 Egg&cheese burritos or sandwich w/ hash browns . Volley . Coffee . Doughnut . Bs . Late morning volley . Pick a time to call it . Ok if we don’t see a Duck well give it till 1115 . The colder it gets , the more ducks around the the better the meals get and breakfast often turns to lunch . Chili is my favorite bar none .
A few of the best rib eyes I've ever had were cooked in a boat blind! My go to is sausage patties with cheese on a steamed english muffin !
