Just got an email from the DNR. Early teal season Sept. 1 - 7, statewide with a daily bag limit of six birds. Experimental season for three years to see how well hunters identify their targets (don't shoot woodies and mallards). Shooting hours from sunrise to sunset.

Yup, and while we have a touch more water than usual this time of year, we still don't have much teal water in the Middle of the Mitten.

Oh well, some folks will enjoy the opportunity I am sure.

Well hopefully the same idiots that hunt opening day at Martiny Chain aren't going out for teal season or it won't be pretty :dv

7 days to hunt teal...only one weekend. Lack of mud flats and cooler weather I'd say we'll have your birds by then anyways

It is real common in Ohio and Indiana to have early migrating shovellers around during teal season. Watch yourself.
