Fork you.....I'm not married to you. :l :l :z
I'm trying to save you some work. Here's what happens... at that depth it'll last for two years maybe three tops then the redhead will be on your *** to refresh it.

Two years ago wife was on me to add bark before a party we were hosting. I'd just added some two years prior. Said fork it I'm not doing this again in two years. Ordered 70 yards and stacked it up 6-7" deep everywhere. It's two years hence and I've still got about 3-5" all around. Won't have to deal with that BS for another few years.

I see the light.

I'm 40 yards in.....honestly, another 30 has my face twitching. :l

This whole "landscaping and gardening" deal has me all forked up. That redheaded devil had me only go 2-3 inches deep because she threw some wildflower seeds in there (read, weeds) that she wants. When I see one pop up I pull it.....and then she runs around wondering why none of her seeds have come up. I tell her we need rain, and then she says that she has been watering, and then I have to make some chit up like, "I read that the chlorine in tap water kills new seeds". Then she tells me that I'm full of chit, which causes me to make some more chit up. It's a vicious circle here. :sp

Pine straw is way easier than mulch. No shovels in involved. And it’s cheaper.

Yeah, but then it sits so long it gets real sun faded and if you’re someone, or do the work for someone, that really cares about the way it looks you’ll have to top it off anyway just to keep it fresh looking.

I’ve done the whole pitch fork deal. I worked on one of those high end horse farms out in Chesterfield and the guy was meticulous. A grain shovel is faster though. And I hate landscraping.

I’ve got that one figured out, too. Since I piled on the bark heavy all I have to do to make it look “new” is once a year take a rake to it and it looks almost like it did the day I put it on. All the stuff below the top layer hasn’t had any UV damage - turn it over a bit and you’re good to go.
