My power company is investing in a nuclear future, and I appreciate them doing so.

You are one step closer to an electric vehicle? :dv:joker

Is partnering with the DOE = subsidy or does that not count?

"Most start-up companies do fail, but most fail slowly. It takes six or seven years for them to fail, usually." As Amazon's fifth anniversary rolls around, Bezos may be wishing he hadn't said that.

Depends on the definition of "partnering" in this instance. If partnering involves the exchange of tax-payer money from DOE to TVA, yep.

Yet TVA refuses to do anything with Bellefonte, a nuke plant that was built and never fired up.
Don't know about the history of this one but if it is just sitting and has been, then lets not fire it up. Machinery that has been sitting for a while tends to not perform so well.

TVA and DOE are fronting the money on the development of this tech. I am not saying it is a bad thing just pointing out that when government provides money to encourage nuclear there is no outcry but when they do that to encourage solar or EVs suddenly everyone is a born again fiscal conservative. It is kind of humorous to watch. All for nuclear East of the Rockies and keep the nuclear waste East of the rockies. You' all have at it. Just keep it out of my back yard and don't ask for my taxes for your superfund clean up.

..because nuclear is practical and useful, not a waste of money and a pipe dream?
We were mightily disappointed when Dirty Harry Reid blew up our Yucca Mountain deal at the order of his Chinese “green energy” cohorts, got himself fabulously wealthy in the process. He profited bigly from the green scam, renewables are a scam..of course.

Ok if you insist, you can have all the nuclear waste in NV. but keep it out of Washington.
