Freshwater is walleye, big bluegill, y. perch, crappie, trout. in that order. But like them all! (Btw...Lmouth Bass is the dumbest fish that swims! :l)
Salt water is Dorado, wahoo, kingfish, cobia. But wish I could fish for more so I could get a larger list to decide from. I like a fish that does fast power runs! These are ones that I caught and liked alot.

Oversized sturgeon are definitely my favorite to catch. As far as fish to catch and eat, it would be a toss up between striped bass, crappie, surf perch and burbot... depending on timing and my mood at the time.

NJ carp. Caught 56 this year. Landed 3 last night with corn bait. Lifetime biggest were 42.5, 33, 32 and 32 lbs on corn meal bait.

Around here the spotted bass are wonderfully feisty. Don’t have to be that big to give you a good fight to the boat. But the fights I remember years later are the smallmouth. Just harder to find.
I do also enjoy setting the hook on a striper. They just don’t fight as hard once you get their head turned to your direction. Together with catfish there can be a sluggish element to the fight.
