This is one of my favorite hunts yet. We are just starting to get on the divers here! Get ready for some more great hunts but first enjoy this couple hour, 6 species, two man limit:

    Jesus, finish a bird.

How many boxes of shells did you shoot?

At 11...bud one of you has 6 and can't shoot anymore.

Exactly what I was thinking. I admire the enthusiasm of anyone that chases ducks. But it’s one thing to chase ducks and just empty the gun at anything that flies vs finishing birds. Someday you will likely figure out that you don’t have to shoot at everything that you see. Let birds work. If they don’t get close don’t shoot. Black Cloud isn’t a miracle cure for tall birds.

Case in point; yesterday we shot 11 birds. We had exactly 11 good opportunities and we took advantage of those opportunities. All 11 birds were dead in the decoys (and all shot in the air). We could have shot at a few that were marginal. But finishing birds is so much more fun. My dogs longest retrieve was about 30 yards. Some retrieves were 10 yards or less.

Keep at it, but do your best to improve and build on success. Birds in your face at 20 yards is a game changer. I bet you will have more fun with that than you will pass shooting tall birds.

Sky busting is something every new guy does. It's forgiveable. Specially when you haven't learned the value of a real hide.

"Let's race to shoot the last duck of our limit" is a ticket and pretty bad to put on youtube.
