Do a dead mount on it. I shot a Pintail up pretty bad, and had it done on a double dead mount with a Wigeon.

Euros are 15% smaller than Americans on average. I've had them in the same pile many times and they are always smaller. The hens are small and dark sometimes with a rust tint on the head. This info is easy to find. Every Euro I have killed, both hens and drakes has been a loner or with another Euro.

To the OP, congrats on your first. :tu Quite the rush when you notice the red head.

Looks more like a Euro /American Hybrid ... A pure Euro doesn't have a green eye band ..... The head should be mostly maroon with a buff top ... I shot one like yours this season but it's a juvinal ...that one is an Adult from what I can tell ...need a pic of its back ... But I'm sure it's not a pure Euro ... probably Even more rare ... I'd mount the one you killed , mine is skinned out but won't mount it till I have a full pure Euro to go with my Storm ... cool bird ...

The bird that appears to be a hybrid is the size of an American.

Interesting. Every single Euro I’ve killed has been commingled into large flocks of wigeon, except 1.
