Seems a little late but saw my first goslings today in the pond in front of the house, funny things is I can see a goose sitting on a nest in the background.

I’m waiting on the word to grab the next recipient of a backpack. I’ve got 3 ready to go as soon as I get the word you heathens down south are done.

Always fun talking with biologist regarding birds, habitat, and the genetics surrounding all of it. Looking forward to hearing about this down the road.

just hearing about the transmitters themself was mind boggling. They can record every 4 minutes and send the data every time they get close to a cell tower. Should be some really cool data returns on this study. They want to do a few hundred in Wisconsin over the next couple years, the other Great Lakes states are participating as well.

    Nice.

This is a state DNR study? University?

    We have something similar here.
They post their “tracks” ( a screen capture) on FB.
Interesting to see the back and forth, then GONE up north.
