When I was a kid we'd go down to the Rock River in Dodge County and catch bullheads on my grandparents' cane poles. We'd fill buckets and my grandma would happily clean them all. Can't recall if I ever ate any, but I know they didn't go to waste.

Fried bullheads. I’ll eat the shizz out of that. Damn fine meal.

The kids entered the Townsend Flowage kids fishing tournament over the holiday weekend and they did great! The boy registered a 2.85 lb largemouth bass, which took 1st place for bass and was the second biggest fish in the tournament, only losing to a northern. My daughter won biggest fish by a girl with her 2.24 lb largemouth bass. It was pretty awesome! There had to be 100ish kids in the tournament. Other then the pre-tournament registration process, it was executed quite well. Overall a fantastic event. My biggest fail is I never took pictures of them with their winning fish. DUMB

Another weekend another new spot. Figured I’d be able to frog away with how everything looked. Wasn’t the case. Landed a really nice bucket, lost more than I care to admit, and a handful of follows.

The two that hurt where the only 2 frog fish of the day that came out of the same patch of pads. First one flushed it and came off half way back to the boat when she jumped. Definitely another really good fish. 2 casts later a fish moved a bunch of water and I can feel weight. I really lay into this one with the hookset and about fall out of the boat when my line gets instantly cut.

Not the best pick but my boat was blowing into the weeds so I tossed her in quick
