The family and I are spending a week in Montana in mid July. We are landing in Bozeman on a Saturday, and making our way up to Kalispell / Glacier NP later in the week. We don't really have any firm plans until Friday when we have passes to Glacier NP.

Now to the question. If you had the chance to fly fish anywhere between Bozeman and Kalispell, where would you go, and is there a guide you would recommend?
It will be my wife, 12y/o son, and I.

My parents were just in Bozeman last week. Dad fished 2 days on the Madison and said it was so blown out from runoff they didn't catch anything.

Give Stonefly outfitters in Twin Bridges a call. They run trips on the Beaverhead. It's a tailwater so it shouldn't be too blown out unless they're running a lot of water through the dam.

You may want to look for something spring fed. Snow pack is major this year, high water is going to be ubiquitous.

you will get a million different answers but my preference would be Jump one ridge west every day Gallatin, then the Madison, then the Ruby, the beaver head or the Jefferson, then the big hole

He's going in July. High water will be long gone by then. Heck, I figure we are going to peak here in the next week with the high temps.

Correct. No high water in mid-July, in all likelihood. Madison is raging right now.

Spring creeks are another option that have great fishing even during high runoff events.
