Another of the HW-15 in #7’s to show shot-to-shot contrast.
Federal HW-15 factory load in 1 1/2 ounce of #6’s using the 20 gauge MII
Wow like those targets JP, good patterns too. Best I can tell first two with full, then mod the Lm?
This pattern look devastating. Have you hunted with the load?
Nice looking pattern but 1 1/2 oz load of HW 6s. In this case the tradeoff for a really nice looking pattern is a very expensive shell. Just curious, what is your cost per round. I can't say too much as I have some Hevi X 6s that on specials most cost was a $1 a round.
How was the field results with hevi x #6's I thought about giving them a try myself?
Yessir, it works out to ~75 yards on mallards.
Hevi X is ~10 gm/cc whereas the Federal HW is 50% denser @15 gm/cc. Huge difference in lethality. I paid $1.90/round for the factory (Federal) loads.
I know Hevi X 10 is only 10 gm but it works well within the 30 -35 yard range and closer that I like to finish ducks into before taking the shot. More often it is me, but usually about 10 -12 shells for 7 ducks, little less if only shoot the candy shots.
